American Crested Guinea Pig

The American Crested looks like a classic American guinea pig wearing a tiny crown: a single contrasting rosette sits squarely on the forehead. In show animals the crest must contrast with the body color, a white crest on a colored pig is the classic look.

Care is identical to the easy-going American: minimal grooming, a balanced diet, and company. Their calm, composed nature makes them excellent first pigs with a little extra flair.
